Blue Green Works seeks an Associate Industrial Designer, who will primarily support ongoing projects with a key commercial partner. Core responsibilities include:
- Drafting of new lighting designs, with guidance from our Lead Industrial Designer and Creative Director.
- Updating and maintaining existing designs.
- Creating tearsheets, installation instructions, and other reference materials.
- Liaising with our commercial partners to keep the BGW team up to date on shifting project needs.
- Tracking multiple project timelines and delivery dates.
- Working closely with the production team to ensure on-time delivery of large orders.
Qualifications:
- SolidWorks and Adobe CS proficiency, AutoCad familiarity.
- Experience in drafting production drawings.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural/construction drawings.
- Able to assist in assembly of prototypes, dry fitting, QC, etc.
- Familiarity with G-Suite (Drive, Sheets, etc). Fluency with other organizational tools (i.e. Monday, Katana, etc) is also great but not required.
- Comfortable conveying important information IRL (i.e. during site visits).
- Excellent organizational skills/methods and keen attention to detail.
- A collaborative attitude and a desire to learn.
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial design (or equivalent experience).
- Bonus if you have experience working in boutique lighting design, construction management, manufacturing, shipping, or inventory control.
