Hangman is a Fine Art Services company based in Brooklyn with offices in Los Angeles, Miami, and The Hamptons. We are growing fast and are looking for a talented assistant to join our client experience team.
In this role you will get to help us change the fine art services sector by working closely with management to build a company like no other. You will work with some of the top galleries, artists, art advisors, and collectors in America to offer solutions to problems big and small. Whether you're assisting in the organization of an installation of a 500 lb Alex Katz sculpture in the Hamptons, or coordinating collections from an emerging artist's studio in LA, you'll be met with new and exciting challenges every day.
In this role you will get a behind-the-scenes understanding of the art world by working with artists, galleries, museums, advisors, and private collectors around the country. This is a hybrid position. Candidates must be based in New York City, LA or Miami.
Responsibilities for this job will include:
Assisting Client Experience team to coordinate with with galleries, museums, auction houses, and private clients on art logistics projects
Entering jobs, writing invoices, and assisting with client related tasks with accuracy and efficiency
Working closely with management to provide innovative and thoughtful solutions to logistical challenges
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
1-2 years relevant experience within an arts setting
Unwavering attention to detail
Excellent time management skills
Proven ability to think critically and solve problems
Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment, as well as in a team
Excellent communication skills
Strong interest in contemporary art
An eagerness to be a part of a young and growing company
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Experience with a content management system such as Quickbase or FileMaker strongly preferred
Experience with routing and scheduling software is a plus, but not required
Experience with art handling is a plus, but not required
