We are a creative, neurodivergent-affirming family seeking a weekday learning companion and tutor for our 8-year-old daughter. She is twice-exceptional (gifted and autistic with a PDA profile)—highly intelligent, emotionally sensitive, and deeply curious when supported through trust and connection.
She learns best through hands-on projects, conversation, games, baking, and videos—not worksheets or structured lessons. Her interests range from big philosophical questions to fashion, color theory, and the art of baking. She's expressive, thoughtful, and forms strong connections when met on her terms. While she’s currently out of school and unschooling, she’s eager to engage with the right person in meaningful, creative ways.
This role blends mentoring, caregiving, and educational support in a calm, emotionally attuned way. It’s ideal for someone interested in child-centered learning, alternative education models, and neurodivergent support—and especially well suited for an early-career artist or educator looking for consistent income and schedule flexibility.
About the Family:
We are both practicing artists with backgrounds in visual art and academia, and we’re raising two young children in a creative home in the Boston area. Our work centers around the arts, community engagement, and education. We’re seeking someone who shares a thoughtful, relational approach to caregiving and learning—and who might find this role meaningful alongside their own practice.
