Description
Riverside Symphony, a Grammy-nominated and Manhattan-based professional orchestra, is seeking a part-time Operations Coordinator to manage rehearsals, performances, and related logistics. The position is estimated to average two days per week over the course of the year, with up to four days required per week for the weeks leading up to the concerts (November 22nd, February 7th, and May 4th).
Responsibilities include:
- Managing music and instrument rentals
- Managing rehearsals and performances
- Orchestra hiring and payroll
- Ensuring compliance with orchestra's contract with AFM Local 802
- Assist Operations Director with tasks as needed, including creation of concert programs in Canva
- Trouble shooting software and technical issues
Essential Qualifications:
- Articulate, personable, detail-oriented, well-organized
- Excellent public interface skills
- Good writing and editing skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ease in acquiring new computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in music business or a related field
- A background in classical music
- Prior experience in non-profit music administration strongly encouraged
