Production Assistant

The Brooklyn Rail is a nonprofit monthly print journal of art, culture, and politics. We publish ten issues annually, in addition to organizing exhibitions, events, and weekday broadcast conversation series.

We are looking to hire a Production Assistant with a genuine enthusiasm for the Rail and the communities we serve. This role is part-time, two to three days per week.

Responsibilities:

*Copyediting

*Fact-checking

*Transcribing interviews

*Assisting with the monthly mailing of the paper and order fulfillment

*General administrative support.   

Desired skills for the position:

*Outstanding communication skills

*Demonstrated writing ability with basic copyediting knowledge

*Competence in Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, familiarity with Google Drive

*Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style

*Bachelor's Degree preferred
