SAILING HELPER/Connecticut/Flexible Part-Time

Creative/professional couple, experienced sailors, seeking a part-time Sailing Helper. Candidates should be available to work one or more days per week, on a flexible schedule, as needed, starting ASAP and continuing into September or October, although students returning to higher education (college students) will be accommodated. Some weekend shifts and holidays are required.

A successful candidate will assist the experienced owners of a 30-foot cruising sailboat based in Stamford, Connecticut with provisioning, operation (including steering and sail handling) and occasional maintenance tasks. Sailing experienc, is required.

Requirements: Candidate must be able to

• Swim (documentation required) although you shouldn’t have to!
• Work outdoors under all weather conditions;
• Lift 30 pounds and climb steps unassisted;
• Traverse and work unassisted from or on uneven, wet or dry, moving surfaces;
• See distant objects, and complete tasks in dim light, or outdoors without artificial light at night.

Creative interest in theatre, dance, literature, photography, and/or nautical matters welcomed. It may not be feasible to safely accommodate some food allergies in the work environment. Valid driver’s license preferred. Marina reached by public transportation (e.g. 2 stops from Grand Central by MetroNorth express).
