Position overview:
Reporting to the Director of Archives, the Collection Assistant is an integral part of the archive team and is responsible for carrying out a range of tasks to support the day-to-day operations of an active collection of photographs and related materials. The position provides dynamic experience in all aspects of archival work as well as the opportunity to assist in broader programs, such as exhibitions and publications.

The position requires a dynamic, self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic candidate who works well both collaboratively and independently. The candidate should also be able to organize information at a high level, multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and creatively solve problems. The candidate should possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with staff at all levels across the institution, and with outside organizations and vendors. Must possess the drive and focus necessary to think critically and improve and expand upon procedures and protocols already in place with a goal of refining workflow.
This position is Monday through Friday 8:30am-5:30pm based out of our Tenafly, NJ offices. Due to the nature of the role, the position requires the ability to lift boxes of collection material up to 25 lbs
