Leon Tovar Gallery is a leading New York-based gallery specializing in Modern art from Latin America. With over 30 years of experience, the gallery is committed to promoting scholarly engagement and increasing the visibility of groundbreaking artists who have shaped the history of Modernism.


Position Overview:

Leon Tovar Gallery is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Gallery Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the operations of an internationally recognized gallery, including exhibitions, logistics, artist research, and art market dynamics. Ideal candidates are proactive, curious, and passionate about Modern and Latin American art.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing for exhibitions, events, and gallery openings.
  • Support logistics related to art handling, shipping, and storage.
  • Conduct research on artists, exhibitions, and the Latin American art market.
  • Aid in administrative duties, including data entry, cataloging, and archiving.
  • Contribute to public relations and communications initiatives.
  • Support daily operations and adapt to a variety of tasks based on current gallery needs.


Qualifications:

  • Current student or recent graduate in Fine Arts, Art History, or a related field.
  • Fluency in Spanish (written and spoken) is required.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Availability of at least two full days per week, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
