Description

Morgan Presents seeks a part-time Gallery Intern to provide administrative support for Spring-Summer 2025. The ideal candidate will have a passion for and a proactive interest in developing skills in gallery operations and administration. This internship will provide an opportunity to gain insight and experience working in the gallery with a focus on modern and contemporary art.


Duration: Spring 2025 (preferred starting date in late March/early April) until early August 2025

Schedule: 2-3 days per week including Saturdays

Compensation: $17/hour or college course credit


Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Operations and Administration

  • Open and close gallery
  • Provide support for day-to-day front desk operations of the gallery, from greeting guests, to answering phone and email inquiries
  • Support Gallery Manager with operational tasks such as collecting shipping quotes, preparing for exhibition installation/deinstallation, and tracking incoming & outgoing works
  • Help prepare for and execute opening receptions

Exhibition Development

  • Provide assistance with art market and artist research in preparation for exhibitions
  • Support Gallery Manager with drafting, organizing, and formatting exhibition materials
  • Assist with drafting and editing copy for outward gallery communications such as e-mail newsletters and social media captioning


Desired Skills and Experience

  • Passion for / interest in modern and contemporary art, as well as the art gallery industry
  • Prior experience or a demonstrated interest in commercial art fields
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professionalism and discretion
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace


Learning & Professional Development Opportunities:

The Gallery Intern can expect to work directly with the Gallery Manager, gaining a wide range of insight into the gallery industry and particularly the process and timelines of exhibition development and production. This role provides an opportunity to develop diverse communication and administrative skills in a supportive, hands-on setting, transferable to future opportunities in the gallery and art world.
