About Us:

I'm Alex Z. Wang (www.alexzwang.com), an emerging artist creating vibrant abstract works that explore light and color, alongside powerful black and white figurative pieces. As I prepare for my upcoming exhibitions at Superfine NYC and Clio Art Fair in 2025, I'm looking for a dynamic assistant to join me on this exciting journey of growing my art practice.

Position Overview:

We're looking for an organized and enthusiastic Art Studio Assistant to provide crucial support during regular studio operations and art fair preparations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about contemporary art who wants to gain hands-on experience in the art world, particularly in art fair operations.

Hours & Schedule:

• Regular periods: 10 -15 hours/week (flexible scheduling / work either remotely or in Bushwick studio along the L train or in my home studio/office along the R/W in Greenwich Village near NYU)

• Art fair intensive periods: Up to 25-30 hours/week

• Must be available full time during key art fair dates in 2025: April 23-27, May 7-11 (including the weekends)

Key Responsibilities:

Regular Period:

• Manage social media presence and engagement

• Update my art website

• Assist with studio organization and inventory, and simple artwork execution with my vision

• Support collector database management and execute collector acquisition strategy

Art Fair Intensive Period:

• Assist with artwork preparation and packaging

• Support booth setup and breakdown

• Provide on-site assistance during fairs

• Help with collector communications and follow-ups

Required Qualifications:

• Strong interest in contemporary art

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Experience with social media and website (Squarespace) management

• Basic photography skills

• Ability to handle artwork with care

• Reliable transportation

• Must be available for 2025 art fair dates (second half of the year dates TBD)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous art fair or gallery experience

• Knowledge of art handling and packaging

• Experience with collector relations

• Understanding of the contemporary art market

Compensation:

• $20/hour

• Flexible scheduling upon mutual agreement
