WOOD WORK

Gregory Colbert’s studio is looking for a qualified studio assistant. Job consists of hand craft and art handling. 

Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, self-motivated, and have great attention to detail. Experience with power tools required. They also need to be able to do delicate handwork. There will be a paid trial period prior to official hire. Candidates should be available to work Monday through Friday, 10-6. 

We are looking for a wood crafters, etc.. who has delicate hand skill and artistic mind to apply. 

and, Fluency in Japanese is a plus.

This is an entry level position starting at $25/hour 

3 days a week 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM ( for part-time)

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Motivated to take full ownership of the projects and is able to complete the projects from A to Z at the highest level or expectations.

- A lot of handwork ( includes use of water )

- Woodwork. Need to use power tool and hardware. (Table saw, Circular Saw, Jig Saw and etc...)

- Cleaning art equipments 

- Packing and handling art

- hanging artwork

- Support in studio organization and inventory tracking.

- Support in some research toward the projects. 

- Studio Upkeep – cleaning, errands, etc

 Experience Required:

- have a BFA

- Experience in wood craft.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

-Extreme care when handing valuable artwork

- A good listener

- Fluency in Japanese is a plus.
