ARTIST STUDIO MANAGER
Description: Seeking an enthusiastic, highly professional, self-motivated and detail-oriented individual for a permanent, 25-30 hour per week administrative position, working directly with the artist. Applicants must be honest, reliable, and diligent. Travel to the physical studio in LIC, NY is required and candidates must be comfortable working remotely at times. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with superb verbal communication, writing, and organization skills. The ideal candidate will be precise, highly professional, punctual, proactive and have the ability to work well with a wide range of individuals from curators, and museum administrators to art handlers. They will need to manage multiple projects at once with both long- and short-term deadlines, and follow-up is key. Must be a strategic thinker. While an interest in contemporary art is required, candidates with a background outside of studio art or art history, such as production, film, event planning, architecture, publications, etc, are encouraged to apply. This position may include some travel and evening or weekend events.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
-Maintain studio correspondence on a consistent and timely basis with institutions and galleries
-Oversee artwork and material pickups and drop-offs
-Oversee digital and physical organization of the studio, including the physical movement of artworks and supplies
-Maintain artist’s calendar; this could include: deadlines, artist talks, meetings, interviews, etc.
-Produce travel itineraries for artist travel (flights, lodging, transport, meetings)
-Help facilitate studio visits with collectors and curators (setting up the space, scheduling and coordinating, contributing a perspective on the work when asked, following up with artist packets)
-Create a studio manual alongside with the artist
-Should be able to carry 30lbs up two flights of stairs
Qualifications:
2-4 years experience of relevant work in production, events, artist’s studio, or relevant fields
Attention to detail and ability to be precise
Time management skills required
Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
GSuite (Gmail, Drive, Calendar)
Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Acrobat, Premiere, Bridge) a plus
Knowledge of Squarespace a plus

Work Hours:
Part Time, 3-4 days a week (25-30 hrs/week)
In-person most days, based in Long Island City, Queens near the E,F,G,M,Q,R, and 7
trains.
