Art Horizons International, Inc. designs highly creative special interest travel programs and study tours which focus on art, architecture and the performing arts in the United States and in selected cities around the world. This position offers you a unique threshold to the art world. You will assist the President and Program Director of the company as they work with artists, galleries and museums in developing creative, customized tours for our clients who are well versed in the arts. Each program is customized according to a specific focus, be it a blockbuster art show, an architectural period or a cultural festival.
The main task of the program assistant is to help make arrangements for aspects of various travel programs, as well as assist in servicing our clients who include museum groups, art associations, corporations, universities and non-profit organizations. The program assistant will handle daily administrative assistant tasks, such as organization and filing as well as comprehensive research for our individual programs. Strong writing, and phone manner are a must. It is necessary that the program assistant be a person who is detail oriented, highly organized and capable of handling multiple projects at once.
The ideal program assistant must be highly organized, have a growing knowledge and interests in the arts.
Tasks and skills include and require --
Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word and Excel
Proven communication, organization and research abilities
Excellent telephone manner
Positive disposition
Ability to compose correspondence to various art collectors, artists, museums and galleries
Researching artists and destinations
Possible full time position to follow three month on boarding period.
