Sculpture Intern for Chasing Super-Realistic Sculptures

Feuerman studio specializing in super-realistic figurative sculpture is looking for a Sculptor Intern. This individual should have knowledge of the human body and good motor coordination. 

The applicant should be willing to learn. It would be helpful is the applicant were an art student or a graduate of an art school. I am looking for 3 days or a full week.

I will write them a recommendation and they can be given college credit.. Their name will go on my foundation website as my intern.

There is opportunity for a full-time, permanent position after their internship.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fine chasing and finishing of sculptures: Use of dremels, sanders, and other tools to refine cracks/seams from sculptural assembly, preparing sculptures for painting and finishing. He/she must be willing to work with resin.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified applicants should have interest in the following sculptural procedures or be willing to learn:

. Fine motor coordination is necessary.

·  Chasing models made in plaster and resin by filling cracks, sanding, and grinding imperfections.

·  A variety of tools such as abrasives sandpapers, chisels, and gouges

. He/she should be able to work well under pressure to complete deadlines

. He/she should not have asthma or allergies to dust of fumes and should be able to wear a respirator

TRAINEES AND LEARNERS

• Applicants course of instruction leads to a degree, diploma or certificate 
• Applicant is completing or has finished residence requirements for a degree
• The Carole Feuerman Foundation is set up and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes.
• The training will involve: Formal instruction and On-the-job training
• During the training program, applicant will learn chasing and finishing of realistic sculptures.
• They will learn the day to day goings on of a professional art studio
• They will have limited responsibility
• They will be under supervision, training and guidance
• The internship is for 12 weeks
• Intern should maintain records and notes from each working day.
