Professional experience required with background in sculpture, fabrication, materials, coatings, and engineering.
Project Manager will oversee the development and realization of numerous concurrent projects including the development of new sculptures including large-scale public sculptures, under direction of the artist.
Must have broad knowledge of various materials – metals, glass, ceramics, wood, plastics, etc. -- and fabrication techniques from traditional casting to milling, 3D printing, (architectural construction?), as well as diverse coatings including painting, patinas, enamels, vapor deposition, and other cutting edge technologies. This background should include digital scanning, 3D modeling, milling, and painting along with traditional sculpture techniques, advanced surface finishing techniques (patinas, airbrush painting, vapor deposition, etc.), and cutting edge technologies.
Seeking creative, well-organized, and detail-oriented person to manage all aspects of production from initial research and development to project completion. Roles and responsibilities include resourcing materials, finishes, and vendors, ; overseeing development, fabrication, and installations,; reviewing plans, development, management, site visits, overseeing fabrication/installations, reviewing plans, and execution of time sensitive projects. Excellent communication skills required with ability to manage budgets, timelines, and expectations with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
Qualifications:
-10 years professional experience, ideally with art fabrication and engineering background
-5 years management experience
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
-Strong organizational and effective communication skills
-Availability to travel and work long hours when required
-Position is full-time and based in Manhattan
