ABOUT THE ART STUDIO NY
Celebrating 20 years as a premier art school in NYC! The Art Studio NY offers 100 inspiring, encouraging weekly art classes to students of all ages (2 - 102) and levels, total beginners included, with a mission to impact the world through the transformative power of art. In a warm and welcoming community art studio, artistic technique and authentic self-expression is combined to unlock the inner-artist. With a home studio on West 72 Street, classes and summer programs are also brought to schools, libraries, museums, and offices through NYC.
JOB SUMMARY
Seeking part-time Art Educators who are responsible, organized, and experienced in teaching drawing, painting and mixed-media art to both children and adults. The ideal candidate is reliable, trustworthy, and has a passion for positively impacting others through art.

ESSENTIAL INSTRUCTOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Leading art classes and private events in locations including W. 72 Studio, museums, schools, libraries, private homes and businesses
• Creating a nurturing, inclusive and positive learning environment for all learners
• Providing excellent customer service and light marketing, leading to a return student following
• Taking direction from supervisors and implementing structured curriculum
• Implementing effective classroom and behavioral management skills
• Collaborating with a team of professionals with a commitment to grow longterm with a team
• Experience in traditional drawing (pencil, pastels), painting (watercolors, acrylics, oils), comics/manga, and mixed-media art, with a willingness to learn new mediums you're less familiar with
• Excellent communication and listening skills
QUALIFICATIONS
• 3 years experience teaching in an educational setting
• Proven classroom and conflict management skills
• Degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, K-12, Studio Art or Studio Art
• Successful track record teaching a variety of media (drawing, acrylic/oil/watercolor painting, mixed-media, comics)
• Excellence in leadership and communication skills
• Ability to connect and collaborate with diverse personalities
