The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) was established in 1971 to empower artists at critical stages in their creative lives. Today, the nonprofit organization’s programs and services are far-reaching and are rooted in a wealth of physical and online resources. Each year, NYFA awards over $4 million in cash grants to individual visual, performing, and literary artists throughout the United States. NYFA’s Fiscal Sponsorship program, one of the oldest and most reputable in the country, helps national artists and arts organizations raise and manage an average of $4 million annually. NYFA’s Learning programs, including its Artist as Entrepreneur and Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program, provide thousands of artists, creatives, and arts administrators with professional development training and support. NYFA’s website, NYFA.org, is used by more than 1 million people and features more than 20,000 opportunities and resources available to artists in all disciplines.
Position Objective
Working closely with all members of the NYFA Grants team, the Program Associate is an entry-level position with an opportunity to provide administrative support across the various funding programs currently administered by NYFA. This role will be primarily responsible for collaborating with NYFA Finance to process grant payments, support panel review processes, and maintain correspondence with artist applicants and recipients.
The Program Associate will be part of a small team and will need to be flexible and willing to take on additional responsibilities and projects as needed. Ideal candidates will have interest and/or experience in artist support and/or grants management.

Salary & Benefits:
This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week (M to F, 9.30am to 5.30pm with some extra hours as required). Salary is $50,000 (non-negotiable), paid time off: vacation, personal and sick days, employer contribution for health insurance with optional dental and vision (eligible at the first of the month after the hire date), 403b (employer matching contributions available after a 3-year term of employment).
Office Policy
NYFA is currently practicing a remote work environment where employees can work from home if they choose to, subject to their immediate supervisor’s approval. Employees may also choose to work in person at the NYC midtown office. NYFA reserves the right to revise the remote work model in case a change is needed in the future.
