Fig House Studios seeks candidates to fill two positions. These positions will start as part time with the option to transition to full time. Both assistants will aid the production team with fabrication and assembly of high-end custom artist supports: stretchers, panels, and frames.
Requirements for both positions:
Position one: Production Assistant.
This position has a strong emphasis on milling and production of specialty stretcher and frame profiles. The person in this role will be capable in reading shop drawings, milling, custom joinery, assembly and glue up, and finishing - all using a range of hand and power tools. Specialty focus on design and fabrication of unique frames and large-scale, complex, multi-panel installations.
Familiarity with woodworking machinery (table saws, jointer, planer, routers)/hand tools with 3+ years experience required.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a commitment to craft, and discretion.
The ideal candidate is committed to growing professionally as a woodworker and art handler with the desire for a long-term position as part of an exceptional team doing exceptional work.
Starting schedule: Two days a week with two weekend days monthly; 8am-4pm. Transition to full-time as training progresses.
Minimum salary: $24/hour (commensurate with experience). PTO included and four generous raises during training period.

Position two: Studio Assistant.
This entry-level position seeks an assistant to aid the production team with assembly of stretchers, panels, and frames, assisting with day-to-day operations and will be exposed to a variety of processes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a commitment to craft, and discretion.
This is a perfect position for someone who wants to enter the woodworking industry in a way that rubs shoulders with the arts.
Starting schedule: Two days a week, 8am-4pm, with the option to transition to full-time as training progresses.
Starting salary: $18/hour. PTO included and four generous raises during training period.
