Description: 

The Jazz Studies Program Coordinator helps to communicate the value of Juilliard Jazz to key stakeholders and organize long term projects. The coordinator maintains comprehensive programming data and department contact information, communicates finalized program data to the students and faculty, as well as internal partners such as the communications and marketing team. The Program Coordinator assists the chair in stewarding jazz patrons and support key office functions involved with processing guests and instructors. 

This is a part time position working 10am-2pm five days per week excluding school holidays. 

Salary for this role is $30,000 per year.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Maintain updated alumni and repertoire databases
  • Communicate current season programming to internal audiences via physical and digital bulletin boards, and our work management software
  • Assist the chair in stewarding jazz patrons and potential donors
  • Work with Operations Manager and maintain our music library
  • Oversee the schedule, communication, and implementation of monthly Studio Class
  • Assist with welcoming all guest and processing substitute teachers via ProxyClick and Cadence systems respectively
  • Activate repertoire data for recruitment and brand marketing purposes
  • Collect all syllabi from faculty 
  • Manage the department requests for concert tickets
  • Assist in update studio guidelines for each instrument studio
  • Participate in regular staff and faculty meetings. 
  • Assist with other duties as needed

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or related professional experience and transferable skills, or a combination of both.  
  • One year of administrative work experience
  • Background in music performance, education, or artistic administration. 
  • Knowledge of jazz repertoire. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational skills. 
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. 

 

Preferred Background:

  • Experience with presentation and/or graphic design software and work management systems preferred
