Description:
This is a part-time position for someone interested in pursuing a career in classical music administration. The apprentice will be immersed in all aspects of the Historical Performance program at Juilliard, including scheduling, artist services, space allocation, chamber music and orchestral concert production, ensemble management and operations, and day-to-day office functions. The department has four full-time staff members, and 15 regular and visiting faculty members.
The salary is $17.39 per hour or a contracted amount of $27,824 for the school year.
About Historical Performance: Juilliard Historical Performance, founded in 2009, is a graduate program for outstanding musicians who want to specialize in playing early music on period instruments. Every student accepted into the two-year Master’s or Graduate Diploma program receives a full-tuition scholarship.
About the Professional Apprentice Program: This program provides immersive training for emerging performing arts technicians and administrators, addressing the need for practical training in the field. For over four decades, it has prepared recent graduates, early-career professionals, and individuals undergoing career transitions for employment in the cultural sector. This is achieved through hands-on experience, professional development, and networking and mentorship opportunities.
