Invigilator

Lisson Gallery is seeking reliable and energetic Invigilators for an upcoming exhibition at one of our New York, Chelsea locations.

Primary duties include:

• Welcoming visitors to the gallery
• Answering basic questions regarding the exhibition and the artist
• Monitoring the artwork on display
• Surveillance and monitoring of guests and visitors to the Gallery
• Assist with closing up, ensure all visitors leave the gallery promptly at closing time
• Any other duties as required

Please Note:

• There is no uniform in place, however we ask Invigilators to dress smart casual unless otherwise stated.
• Gallery invigilators are required to sign in and out at the start and end of each shift
• If you are sick and unable to attend on the day, you must notify reception as early as possible

The ideal candidates will have a positive attitude and be especially enthusiastic about interfacing with the public and comfortable standing for long periods of time.

This position is part time and temporary, as it runs the length of the exhibition from May 1st - August 1st. Position hours are Tuesday-Saturday from May 1st - June28th and Monday - Friday from June 30th - August 1st, for either a morning shift of 10 AM to 2 PM or an afternoon shift of 2 pm to 6 PM. Candidates may occasionally need to work additional hours.

Qualifications:

Thorough knowledge of contemporary art.

Able to stand for long periods of time
