Bike Operator and Art Handler for performance-based installation
Tanya Bonakdar Gallery seeks a bike operator / art handler for our upcoming exhibition.
Requirements:
- Ride a stationary bike at low intensity (non continuous), to control a rope and pulley system with attached artworks as a theatrical performance.
- Ability to follow instructions from the artist about the rhythm, speed and lighting / sound controls.
- Manage music and lighting cues via iPad controls on the bike.
- The performer / bike operator will be in the public exhibition space, but will not interact with the public
- Comfortably climb a 4-6' rolling ladder to attach/detach artworks from the rope system.
- Work in tandem with another person to operate the bike and attach and detach artworks. The roles will be interchangeable so the bike riding element will be shared.
- Experience art handling is a must

Training:
- April 21: 2-6 PM
- April 22: 10 AM - 6 PM
- April 23: 10 AM - 6 PM
Opening:
Exhibition Schedule (April 25 - May 30):
- Tuesdays: 3-5 PM
- Wednesdays: 3-5 PM
- Thursdays: 3-5 PM
- Fridays: 3-6 PM
- Saturdays: 12-6 PM
