The Art Effect empowers youth to develop their artistic voice to shape their futures and bring about positive social change. We help youth in the Hudson Valley explore, experience, and excel in the arts, introducing them to visual arts and media, allowing them to develop real skills in these fields, and guiding them toward achieving their academic and career goals.
The Art Effect seeks dynamic, professional, and creative teaching artists for summer programs at Dutchess Arts Camp in Poughkeepsie, NY, Ulster Arts Camp in New Paltz, NY, and the Junior Arts Institute in Poughkeepsie, NY. Our Arts Camps provide weekly, themed summer sessions for ages 5 – 11 where children can explore their artistic abilities and express themselves through creative group and individual activities. The Junior Art Institute is a skill-building program meant to develop 11-14-year-old art lovers into future artists. Students learn to use complex art techniques and develop an original body of work. Students receive guidance from working artists, develop a community of peers, and explore new materials while expanding their artistic knowledge.
