Internship
Cass Bird’s studio is seeking a Summer intern to work closely with staff for a three-month period, assisting with projects involving the photography collection. Responsibilities will include the inventory and archiving of negatives.
In addition to exposure to the work of Cass Bird, this internship will provide opportunities for learning about the management of a photographic collection. The intern will be trained in the handling of photographic works and archival standards for their care. This educational internship is paid.
Requirements:
• Must possess an outstanding work ethic.
• Exercise utmost care and respect for negatives and precious materials.
• Adhere to strict procedures for workplace confidentiality.
• Applicant must be currently enrolled in visual art, fine art, art conservation, library science, museum studies, or other applicable undergraduate, graduate, or certificate programs.
Location: New York, NY
Tentative start date: May 20, 2025
Duration: 3 months
Preferred availability: One day a week; 11 am to 5 pm
