Description

The School of Art+Design (A+D) at Purchase College, SUNY seeks candidates for the position of Program Coordinator. The successful candidate will be a flexible, self-motivated, and personable individual who excels in a collaborative educational environment. This key position serves as a vital link between students, faculty, and administrative offices while supporting the division's operational and strategic goals. The Program Coordinator will have ongoing responsibilities in student enrollment, course scheduling and registration, and admissions, recruitment and scholarships for both the undergraduate and graduate programs.


Under the supervision of the Director of A+D, regular duties will include:

·       Managing A+D recruitment including portfolio reviews, school visits, webinars, mailing and call campaigns, open house and Accepted Students Day events, and coordinating applications and scholarships

·       Representing A+D at offsite recruitment events (may involve weekends, evenings, and travel)

·       Handling summer and mid-year onboarding of new first-year, new transfer, exchange students including outreach, registration and orientation

·       Managing Interdisciplinary BFA, major concentrations, internal transfer and minor application processes

·       Assisting with graduate student applications and registration

·       Supporting faculty with academic advising

·       Supporting students as a second-tier academic advisor

·       Assisting with student academic and professional probations

·       Managing course enrollments, including data entry of the slate of A+D curricular offerings and processing paperwork for course catalog updates

·       Assisting with class scheduling, room assignments, and personnel

·       Liaising with the Registrar's office regarding class lists, registrations, transcripts, grades, and withdrawals

·       Securing and maintaining relationships with high schools, community colleges, and other strategic admissions partnerships including assisting with articulation agreements for transfer students


Additional Responsibilities:

·       Serve on campus-wide committees as requested

·       Actively engage in the Purchase College community


The successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal abilities, organizational skills, data analysis acumen and the ability to plan and coordinate tasks and projects. This position is key to recruitment and support of students and is one of the first people many students meet and work with at our school.


The base salary will be $57,151 - $59,027, plus $3,400 location pay. This is an in-person position located in Purchase, NY, commencing with the Fall 2025 semester. We offer yearly union contract-negotiated pay increases and potential for permanency. Qualifications

Required:

·       Bachelor's degree

·       3 years of experience working in higher education or equivalent professional experience

·       Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies

·       Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail

·       Proficiency with data analysis and administrative software

·       Outstanding written and verbal communication skills


Preferred:

·       Familiarity with visual arts education programs

·       Driver's license and willingness to travel to recruitment events
