Job Description:
The Female Design Council (FDC) is seeking a part time, contract staff member supporting the membership and programming efforts, responsible for overseeing membership processing, tracking information and data, and managing current and prospective members of the FDC. In addition, the membership services manager takes an active role in scheduling, organizing and supporting ongoing digital and in person member programs of the FDC including FDC Showcases, Monthly Member Meetings, Professional Development Workshops and more.
Commitment:
Approximately 15 - 20 hrs per week, contract and paid hourly at $35-$45/hour. IRL evening or daytime event attendance in New York/Brooklyn is expected no more than 1-2x per month. This role does not have a daily set schedule, however, requires a weekly staff meeting (over Zoom), daily check-ins (email, chat) on ongoing schedule and work load. This role is perfect for remote, flexible administrative work, but requires proactive communication around scheduling, task delegation and status, and availability. The FDC’s “busy periods” are March-April-May and October-November, with a slower cadence in January-February and summer.
Requirements:
-The role requires a positive customer service orientation, with the ability to manage inquiries from members and prospective members in a timely, professional and friendly manner, and an ownership mindset of systems, databases, software programs, and in-person logistics.
-Role requires strong administrative skills, including error-free email correspondence, tracking and updating spreadsheets of information accurately, presenting membership reports, managing Zoom webinars and learning and managing the FDC’s software (MembershipWorks).
-Knowledge, enthusiasm and previous experience within the art and design industry strongly preferred. This part-time role is excellent for an artist with a studio practice, a former gallery registrar or showroom manager, or a graduate student.
Responsibilities:
Please send both a cover letter and resume to [email protected] with the words MEMBERSHIP MANAGER in the subject line. *We strongly recommend reviewing the Female Design Council’s website and Instagram to familiarize yourself with the organization.
