We are looking for interns who are dependable, organized, detail-oriented, interested in art history, and eager to learn about art business. Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to commit to the agreed-upon work schedule. The major responsibilities of this internship include art-related research, updating the gallery’s databases, assisting with operations, and other tasks as needed. The internship is open to college juniors, seniors, and recent graduates.
This is a paid internship. Candidates should be willing to commit to two or three days per week during the gallery’s normal operating hours: Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm, with extended availability to help with openings and special events as needed. Fall interns should begin in late August and continue through December.
Interns will learn about numerous aspects of gallery operations including industry-standard software (Artlogic); organizing exhibitions; gallery professionalism; research strategies related to art history; image reproduction permissions; interacting with various types of co-workers, professional contacts, and visitors; and multitasking as part of a larger organization.
