About the Cultural Leadership Program

Based at the Mandel Institute for Nonprofit Leadership, the Cultural Leadership Program develops outstanding artists and producers who lead through their art, cultural projects and social initiatives. Established in 2023 as a pilot, the fellowship has 15 graduates, and will soon recruit a second cohort.

The fellowship features in-person seminars, short courses and study groups, advising, and a stipend to advance a creative project. Fellows form an enriching interdisciplinary cohort and participate in learning that exposes them to varied models of cultural leadership and management skills; Jewish texts, material and cultural histories; and artist-driven initiatives for social and communal change. Fellows enter the program with an existing or new creative project they wish to develop and have opportunities to collaborate creatively in response to the program’s curriculum.
