Fabrication Tech

Solid Art Services is a fine art services company offering art handling, trucking, fabrication and storage. 

Solid is looking for an experienced Tech to support the Fabrication Department two to four days a week. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude and is a detail oriented collaborator. They are proactive and able to work within a timeline. 

Job Description 

• Support Fabrication Department by building custom crates, travel frames, pedestals and other fabrication projects
• Packing crates to specifications 
• Safely operate power tools and equipment 
• Perform wood shop maintenance and take inventory of wood shop stock accordingly 
• Prepare fabrication estimates and packing instructions as needed 
• Load and offload artwork, crates and supplies as needed at warehouse 
• Other tasks as assigned 
• This is a part time, hourly, position starting at two to four days a week which are flexible. Possibility to grow over time

Qualifications 

• Two years of experience with woodworking, carpentry and/or fine art crate fabrication 
• Art handling experience preferred but not required 
• Ability to read, process and execute crate designs and specifications 
• Proficiency with wood shop tools and best practices 
• Ability to safely lift 50lbs individually
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and professional demeanor
