Tip of the week

We all have to start somewhere so don’t panic when you begin writing your first resume and realize you have very minimal (or no) work experience. While you might not have been formally employed before, that doesn’t mean you don’t have any useful skills.

For your first resume, take a look at all your experiences in life so far and focus on things you’ve learned that are useful for the position for which you’re applying. Don’t underestimate your school extracurricular activities, certificates you have earned, or volunteer experiences — they all taught you something that can be used in a formal career environment.
