The Paul Robeson Galleries at Rutgers University in Newark is curating an exhibition titled, "Wasted". Curated By Professor Kevin Lyons and Gallery Director Anonda Bell, this exhibition will feature artworks that address the subject of plastic. This could be artworks made about plastic, made with plastic, or referencing how plastic has impacted this planet. Work may refer to petrochemical plastics, or bio-plastics, or historic precursors to plastic. This exhibition will be the third in a series titled Invisible City (Newark) which speaks to the history of the city through a collection of excavated artifacts from a downtown city block. It is part of the Robeson Galleries Sci-Art Project, bringing collaborators together from the arts and sciences. There will be public and education programs, and a publication, to accompany the exhibition. The exhibition will be on display from November 2025 to April 2026.
