Applications for MGC Community Print Studio Membership

We’re thrilled to announce that MGC Community Print Studio is up and running in our new home at Powerhouse Arts in Brooklyn!

MGC Community Print Studio supports the learning and practice of fine art printmaking by providing an affordable, inclusive, professional studio space, where a community of printmakers at all stages of artistic development can create and present their work. To encourage greater appreciation of printmaking, we offer classes in traditional and experimental techniques; fellowships; artist talks; and outreach to public school students; as well as exhibitions.

As the community counterpart to Powerhouse Arts' (PHA’s) Printshop, MGC Community Print Studio complements PHA’s existing print fabrication services and also serves as a teaching and learning lab, adding facilities and expert practitioners in intaglio, relief, and lithography processes, as well as screen printing. In this new chapter MGC is part of an expanded creative ecosystem, while staying true to its roots as a dynamic, affordable community studio. 

Whether you're an experienced printmaker or just starting out, there's never been a better time to join our community. We've made some exciting updates to our studio—including additional presses, expanded techniques like stone lithography, and state-of-the-art ventilation—creating an even more inspiring, safe, and versatile space to create.

As part of our relaunch, we’re introducing a new membership plan created to support artists at every stage. With more access, more value, and more ways to get involved, it’s a chance to grow your practice and become part of a vibrant, inclusive printmaking community.

For $275/month, MGC Memberships include:

• Unlimited studio access during open hours
• 25% discount on classes
• Private storage shelf
• Some materials/consumables (basic inks, newsprint, proofing paper)
• Exhibition opportunities (open call entry fee waived)
• Access to studio technicians
• Flat file drawer (included with 6-month or 12-month membership commitment, or for an additional cost to monthly memberships.)

Plus access to extras including: 

• Silkscreen storage
• Members’ Editioning Room

Discounts are available for commitments of 6 or 12 months.

We're also proud to offer several ways to get involved and support MGC in exchange for reduced membership costs.

Drop in rates are available for those who prefer occasional studio access to monthly membership.
