Entrepreneurial Intensives

We work with consultants and cultural partners to offer professional development programs for artists and arts administrators who are looking for help advancing their careers and growing in their creative sectors.

We create adaptive and interactive learning experiences for participants through both individualized and group learning.

How it works:

  • Each program has an application process or registration form, which helps us better understand who we are serving.
  • Each program’s structure includes a blend of formal lectures, interactive workshops, and breakout groups.
  • Using a flexible approach, we assess and adjust to the needs of the cohort or participants throughout each program.

Our entrepreneurial trainings serve artists, creatives, students, and arts administrators. Customized to fit the needs of participants and partners, our intensives cover the fundamental principles of sustainability—and ultimately profitability—in the arts. Topics such as finance, law, marketing, and fundraising are addressed, with additional material adapted from NYFA’s popular The Profitable Artist (Allworth Press, 2018) textbook. Whether you’re looking for a shift in thinking, strategies for your arts/creative business, or peer networks, our entrepreneurial programs provide dynamic planning tools for building a blueprint for your creative practice or arts enterprise.

I was able to close a deal on my first corporate sale that included six works. What I learned in the Artist as Entrepreneur Program helped me to make sure I considered all of the details, costs, and contract items very carefully. It was my most successful transaction ever and I was able to negotiate it from start to finish without wavering on terms. The Intensive not only gave me needed advice but it also built confidence.
