Join in an adventure merging science, art, history and marine conservation as we seek out living examples of bizarre and beautiful sea creatures that were captured as glass models by master glass artists 160 years ago. Narrated by ocean advocate Ted Danson, this is a global exploration of our changing sea, and the innovative ways in which artists, scientists, policy makers- everyone - can help restore it.
Phase 1, a short film, has garnered numerous awards and screened at the Smithsonian, Museum of Natural History in Vienna, Corning Museum of Glass and in over 15 film festivals worldwide. The project has been twice featured in the New York Times, and is expanding to include a long-form film, Virtual Reality and a book. The film's protagonist, Dr. Drew Harvell, wrote the award-winning "A Sea of Glass," including behind the scenes anecdotes from the creation of the first film.
