Titled “Painder”; Kellie says, “Back in 2009, I began sketching a ‘female spider’ to express to others the pain I was experiencing – needing all of the legs of a spider to communicate the burning, freezing, electrical, stabbing ants with hot tap shoes, etc. kinds of pain I battled 24/7.”

To minimize the cost to the Arachnoditis Survivors for shipping, insurance, and other usual exhibition expenses; There IS a $5 registration fee for the Survivors' Art Exhibit to assist with the cost of making prints and processing digital entries for display. Other than that one annual exhibit fee; All Spinal Arachnoditis Survivors registered receive Project Benefits for FREE since the project began.
In addition to providing our Survivors' Art Exhibit featuring Art by Spinal Arachnoiditis Survivors from around the world, Providing Existing Independent Publication Services for Survivors who would like to tell their side of the story, and maintaining the FREE Healing Art Activities and Resources on the Website for Survivors;

THE YEAR 2 SURVIVORS' ART EXHIBIT OPENING RECEPTION 2016
Survivors develop a Creative Voice About the Outcomes of Patient Harm as they pursue a path to Creative Wellness at artforarachnoiditis.org. This video features Art by the Arachnoiditis Survivors and the YEAR 2 Survivors' Song Entry, "Needles," by Brock Babcock, husband of Arachnoiditis Survivor Michelle Babcock.
The 2015-2016 Cycle will continue to include Art By Survivors in all genres, the exhibit will travel to other locations.Survivors who submitted entries for the YEAR 2 Exhibit were entered for a chance to win an Arachnoiditis Survivor Portrait package.
INDEPENDENT PUBLISHING PROJECTS BY SURVIVORS The Art For Arachnoiditis Project YEAR 2 Budget includes ISBNs Fees for Independent Publication for Arachnoiditis Survivors. We can get 10 ISBNs for $295
The Project is Expanding to Include a Hands-On Creative Wellness On-site and E-Course Component. Survivors are invited to share their results (*optional) in our online gallery and during Survivors' Art Exhibits Open to the Public.
Using Art to Empower and Provide Healing Support & Connections For Spinal Arachnoiditis Survivors this Charitable Creative Wellness Art Project created by Sheila at SheilaLynnK Art Studio began as a one-to-one Survivor portrait project and Has since expanded to serve Arachnoiditis Survivors around the world.
By Invitation, The First Exhibit featuring Art By Survivors, traveled Upstate New York from April to December 2015, as part of the Artist Among Us Touring Art Program. "Artists Among Us" is a touring art program created by the Fountain Arts Center, Belmont, NY. The Artis Among Us program is funded in part by the New York State Council On The Arts Decentralization ReGrant Program with support from Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature administered through the Cattaraugus County Arts Council.
This video features art by spinal arachnoiditis survivors and the FIRST Song Entry (at the 2:45mark) for the project's YEAR 2 Survivors' Song Search. VOTING BEGINS after all entries are received. Deadline Feb. 15, 2016

LIMITED LIBERTY INTERACTIVE INSTALLATION ~To Include Survivors from Near and Far, Names of ALL registered Arachnoiditis Survivors, including those registered for the Map of the Survivors, were inserted into prescription bottles and suspended throughout the exhibit at assorted heights to simultaneously illustrate the limitations placed upon us by the medical injury, the freedom/impairment dichotomy that comes with prescription medication for pain management, and OUR DETERMINATION TO COME TOGETHER ANYWAY.
The Art For Arachnoiditis Project website- artforarachnoiditis.org - Served 93 Countries in 2015. It is dedicated to art and healing which targets the needs of arachnoiditis survivors. Survivors also connect via the affiliated Facebook page. The Website displays original healing art by Arachnoiditis Survivors, encourages healing through assorted art or creative practices used in ancient and modern art therapy applications, provides methods for arachnoidits survivors to document survival and adaptation through the arts, establishes a venue to publicize arachnoidtis awareness/prevention events using original art by Arachnoiditis Survivors, and works to supply credible resources for survivors.
