Applications Open for 2015 NYFA Artists’ Fellowships

Apply for fellowships in Fiction, Folk/Traditional Arts, Interdisciplinary Arts, Painting, and Video/Film.

NYFA Artists’ Fellowships are $7,000 cash awards made to individual originating artists living and working in the state of New York and/or Indian Nations of New York State for unrestricted use.

Grants are awarded in 15 artistic disciplines with applications accepted in 5 categories each year on a 3 year cycle. Artists’ Fellowships are not project grants but are intended to fund an artist’s vision or voice, regardless of the level of his or her artistic development. 

In 2014, NYFA awarded 90 grants to 93 awardees with 3 collaborations totaling an amount of $630,000.

The disciplines that will be reviewed in the 2015 cycle are:

– Fiction

– Folk/Traditional Arts

– Interdisciplinary Arts

– Painting (including the Basil H. Alkazzi Award for Excellence in Painting)

– Video/Film
