Artists News: Waiting for Spring

Though February was longer than usual this year, March has finally begun!

The bright colors from Franklin Evans’ painting are getting us really excited for spring time. While we wait for the weather to get warmer and the flowers to bloom we like to see the work NYFA affiliated artists are presenting at the moment. Check out the list below for the hottest events this March!

Emily Barletta (Fellow in Crafts ‘09)
Is showing her art in the group exhibition Passing Through at Schema Projects. The presented works are by artists who use threads in their works.

Larry Krone (Fellow in Crafts ’09, Interdisciplinary Work ’15)
Will be modeling during the sketch night, Drink & Draw, at Stoop at BRIC House.

Anne Muntges (Fellow in Printmaking/Drawing/Artists’ Books ’14)
Her installation Skewed Perspectives was on view at NYFA’s Gallery and will now be on show in the Gallery at the Ann Felton Multicultural Center on the Onondaga Community College campus.

Joanne Greenbaum (Fellow in Painting ’96)
Will have an exhibition at Greengrassi in London, UK.

Carlyle Brown (Fellow in Playwriting/Screenwriting ’89)
Will perform Acting Black, a show with elements from stand up comedy, Ted Talks and spoken word at Dreamland Arts.

A. Rey Pamatmat (Fellow in Playwriting ‘08)
Has written the play after all the terrible things I do which will be on show at the About Face Theatre in Chicago.

Anne Washburn (Fellow in Playwriting/Screenwriting ’10)
Her new play Antila Pneumatica will be on show at Playwrights Horizons through April.

Andrea Kleine (Fellow in Non-Fiction ‘11)
Will be a part of this month’s Volume Reading & Music Series at Spotty Dog Books & Ale.

Franklin Evans (Finalist in Painting ‘12, Fellow in Painting ‘15)
Will be featured in Dynamic Pictorial Models at 101/EXHIBIT in Hollywood.

Mary Tooley Parker (Fellow in Folk/Traditional Arts ’15)
Is a member of the National Association of Women Artists and will have 2 pieces in the group exhibition the Creative Muse at the Crayola Gallery at the Banana Factory.

Terese Svoboda (Fellow in Poetry ’87, Fiction ’98)
Will present her poems at the Tucson Festival of Books at the University of Arizona campus.
