We look forward to serving you from our new space in Manhattan this December.

For the last 14 years, NYFA has called the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn home. Over these years, NYFA has expanded its programs and resources immensely. We’ve been here for you during Hurricane Sandy and throughout the pandemic, supporting creativity with our peer arts organizations in DUMBO.

This December, we will relocate to Manhattan. We will offer the same level of support, in a more centralized location at 29 West 38th Street in Manhattan, for the communities that we serve. Please stay tuned for more details as we grow closer to the move and to this next chapter in NYFA’s more than 50 year history.

In leaving our Brooklyn space, we celebrate the numerous in person professional development programs, exhibitions, and events that brought artists and arts workers together from across the five boroughs and the greater NYC metro area to Brooklyn and the impactful programs that were created in service to them.

  • We facilitated meetings between our Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program mentees and mentors where lasting relationships were formed.

  • We held Artist as Entrepreneur programs that helped artists develop strategic plans and learn about finance, law, marketing, and fundraising–empowering artists to take their careers to the next level.

  • We showcased work by NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellows and Finalists, artists from our Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program, and artists from our international intensive programs in our exhibition space.

  • We celebrated 30 years of our NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship Program, which has supported the voice and vision of thousands of artists of all disciplines and career levels across New York State.

  • We partnered with the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment to encourage and support the creation of content that reflects the voices and perspectives of all who identify as women.

  • We partnered with the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA) and the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) to distribute grants to 3,000 artists that brought arts programming to each of NYC’s five boroughs.

We are grateful for our time in Brooklyn, and look forward to our move. In the meantime, we want to thank you for learning and growing with us throughout the years, for being a part of this vibrant arts community, and for your belief in the power of the arts to uplift and inspire.
