This online workshop is designed to support teaching artists and arts educators of all disciplines from anywhere they have internet access. Participants will gain a big-picture understanding of what trauma-informed teaching is and how teaching the arts through a trauma-informed lens is connected to other areas of arts education, such as Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and Creative Youth Development (CYD). We will discuss how adjusting language, class goals, and structure are building blocks to greater impact and creating community in the classroom, whether that classroom is remote or in-person.
