New Program Announcement: Arts Business Incubator (ABI)

Support for non-profit and for-profit creative start-ups

We’re excited to announce a new program for arts for-profit or non-profit businesses in New York City. Through the generous support of the Scherman Foundation’s Katharine S. and Axel G. Rosin Fund, ABI will offer a small cohort of ten New York City-based arts business start-ups three years of custom-tailored, formalized support from NYFA’s knowledgeable staff and network of experts, including:

  • Intensive professional development training providing the fundamental principles for starting and running an arts business
  • Group learning with a small community of other arts start-ups, as well as one-on-one mentorship and coaching with NYFA staff and experts in appropriate fields

  • Subsidized legal and accounting services for the duration of the program

  • Strategic and business planning assistance

  • Free, customized consultations in fundraising, marketing, real estate, insurance, technology, and any other area relevant to the needs of each individual enterprise, by experts in those fields.
  • Fiscal sponsorship for nonprofit start-ups

Applications due January 23, 2015. Visit our website for more details and full application guidelines.

We’ll be continuing our conversation around this program and arts entrepreneurship on Twitter. We’d love to hear from you; join us at #artsbizinc
