The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is pleased to offer an opportunity for artists of all disciplines to participate in its new online workshop series. The series, which debuts on September 25 with “The Fundraising Landscape: Making Fundraising Work for You,” will expand on topics covered in NYFA’s newly-revised second edition of The Profitable Artist (Allworth Press, 2018) and continue with “Marketing for Artists in the Digital Age” on Tuesday, October 16. Mara Vlatković, contributor to the marketing chapters of The Profitable Artist, will lead the workshop.
Workshop Description
How do you start building an audience? Where do you concentrate your marketing efforts to make them the most effective? How do you market yourself and your art with authenticity? This workshop will cover social media and email marketing, and will highlight (often completely free!) tools you can use to develop a dedicated following. Informed by The Profitable Artist, you will learn how to understand your audience, build marketing goals, and make the most of your own time and resources. Meet presenter Mara Vlatković below.

Presenter
Mara Vlatković is an arts marketing and communications professional currently working as Campaign Specialist at The Juilliard School in New York City. With previous experience in cultural diplomacy and international development in Washington, D.C., she has turned her focus towards supporting artists and creatives in reaching their full potential. Vlatković is the Founder of Young Professionals in the Arts (YPA) and provides training in digital marketing to artists and art professionals. She previously worked at The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) as Digital Communications Officer, and is a contributor to The Profitable Artist. She has an M.A. degree in Culture, Policy, and Management from City University London and a B.S. degree in Sociology from the London School of Economics.
