Artists with children: How do you balance your creative work and your family life?

On June 21, 2017, #ArtistHotline returns to Twitter. During this month’s all-day Twitter chat, we’ll host a "Parenting Artist" Guest Chat from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM EST, and will hear from guest tweeters Jaime Derringer, founder and executive editor of Design Milk and a multidisciplinary artist, and writer Deanna Fei (Fellow in Fiction ‘06).

The “Parenting Artists” Guest Chat will be a forum for sharing parent-friendly resources and opportunities, as well as tips for time management and work-life balance for creative professionals. Whether you’re a soon-to-be or veteran parent, or you’re thinking about starting a family, we hope you’ll tune in on June 21

Tweet your thoughts, questions, and experiences using the hashtag #ArtistHotline in all your related tweets. We look forward to hearing from you via Twitter during the Guest Chat and all day for #ArtistHotline, which takes place from 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM EST on the third Wednesday of each month.

Participate in The Profitable Artist Giveaway

This month, we’re also celebrating the second anniversary of #ArtistHotline by giving away two copies of The Profitable Artist (Allworth Press, 2011), which compiles a wealth of practical information for artists of all disciplines. Individuals who join #ArtistHotline by using the hashtag on Wednesday, June 21, between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM EST, will qualify, and two tweeters will be randomly selected.

Inspired by the NYFA Source Hotline, #ArtistHotline is dedicated to creating an ongoing online conversation around the professional side of artistic practice. #ArtistHotline occurs on the third Wednesday of each month on Twitter. Our goal is to help artists discover the resources needed, online and off, to develop sustainable careers.

This initiative is supported by the Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation.
