TRIACONTAGON: A CELEBRATION OF 30 YEARS OF THE ARTISTS’ FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Join us on August 13 at Westbeth Gallery in New York City and/or come see the show through August 30

Curated by David C. Terry, NYFA Director of Programs and Curator and Fellow in Sculpture ‘99

NYFA Curatorial is pleased to announce an exhibition, Triacontagon: A Celebration of 30 Years of the Artists’ Fellowship Program. Triacontagon is a traveling exhibition premiering at Westbeth Gallery featuring 41 NYFA Fellows.

Technically a triacontagon is a thirty-sided star polygon.  Although it is a star in its geometric configuration, it is also a circle which represents the full-circle relationship NYFA has with its Fellows, supporters and constituents.  We borrow this terminology to symbolize the thirtieth anniversary of our Artists’ Fellowship Program and its scope.

Exhibition Dates: Thursday, August 13, 2015 – Sunday, August 30, 2015
Exhibition Location: Westbeth Gallery, 55 Bethune Street, New York, NY 10014
Opening Reception: Thursday, August 13th, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Gallery Hours: Wednesday through Sunday, 1 – 6 PM

The Artists’ Fellowship Program makes unrestricted cash grants of $7,000 to artists working in 15 disciplines, awarding five per year on a triennial basis. Since it was launched in 1985, the program has awarded over $27 million to more than 4,000 artists. This year’s class of Fellows marks the 30th anniversary of the program and NYFA, with regional partners, will be celebrating that milestone with public programming around New York State this coming year.

NYFA’s Artists’ Fellowships are administered with leadership support from the New York State Council on the Arts, a State agency.
